CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police have arrested a man after they say he fled an accident scene while huffing compressed gas from a canister.

34-year-old Anthony Moceri, Jr. is facing charges of Leaving the Scene of a Crash, Resisting Officer, and Inhalation of Harmful Chemical Substances.

According to a Cape Coral Police report, officers responded to the 900 block of SW 21st Lane at 11 p.m. Saturday after a report of a hit and run crash.

A woman at the scene reported that a red Jeep had hit her parked vehicle, and the driver had yelled "f*** off" before driving away.

An officer noticed a vehicle matching the description nearby and pulled the Jeep over.

The officer says the vehicle had loud music playing and observed the driver stick his arm our and point his middle finger at the officer.

The officer noticed a can in his hand, and when the driver made a sudden movement, the officer drew his weapon and ordered him to exit the vehicle.  Instead, the driver inhaled from the can and attempted to drive off.  The Jeep only went about 30 feet before pulling over into a yard.

The driver, later identified as Moceri, was taken into custody and arrested.

A search of the Jeep revealed two canisters of "Dust Off" and a shotgun in the rear of the vehicle.

Moceri was booked into the Lee County Jail and released Monday on $2,750 bond.
