A store clerk says a homeless man approached her and allegedly said he was going to rape her, the Cape Coral Police Department said.

It happened Sunday at the Speedway gas station on Cape Coral Parkway.

The stork clerk told deputies that Paul Batteux III, 56, approached her behind the building and began speaking to her. Paul told the woman, "you're not supposed to be out back here," and then made threats of raping her, CCPD said.

Paul was later arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail. He was issued a Trespass Warning and charged with presenting a suspended license.
