Homeless man arrested for mooning deputy in Port Charlotte

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- A deputy charged a Port Charlotte homeless man with Exposure of Sexual Organs and possession of an open container after a revealing confrontation Monday.

43-year-old Brian Arrigo was booked into the Charlotte County Jail and released the next day.

According to a Charlotte County Sheriff's Office report, a deputy was completing paperwork on a traffic stop on on Cedarwood Street near Spear Street when he saw Arrigo sprinting towards the rear of his patrol vehicle. The deputy stopped Arrigo and explained that his actions were not a good idea.

The deputy says that as Arrigo was walking away from the vehicle, he lowered his shorts and lifted his shirt to expose his buttocks as he walked toward a wooded lot.

The deputy approached Arrigo, who was sitting at the edge of the woods with an open can of Miller High Life in a paper bag.

The deputy writes that since Arrigo has multiple previous arrests, he did not quality for the pre-arrest diversion program that allows some suspects to avoid arrest for minor offenses.
