BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - The Lee County Sheriff's Office has opened a homicide investigation in Bonita Springs.
Late last night, deputies responded to a shooting near Matheson Avenue and Goodwin Street, a report said. The incident was ruled a homicide.
Neighbors said they heard gunshots shortly before Lee County Deputies arrived on scene.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Destiney Bocanegra.
Investigators say the incident appears to be isolated.
The investigation is ongoing.
