How to plan finances with your partner

LEE COUNTY, Fla.-- Valentine's Day is around the corner and most people celebrate with chocolates or flowers, but a local financial expert says you should use the holiday to talk about finances.

James Gallagher, of Waterstone Financial says you should set a financial plan with your partner.

He says is you're in a new relationship you should your commitment. Go to a bank and open a joint account or open your first brokerage account and start investing together.

If you've been together for a while, work on your estate plan. Figure out where your money goes and how you will look after each other in the later years.
