The Collier County School District reassigned Parkside Elementary employee Tiffany Milfort to administrative duties after she and her husband were involved in a fracas with a Collier County Sheriffs Deputy Friday night at the Mercato.

According to the police report, Milfort's husband got into a confrontation with a bouncer at Blue Martini.

They were asked to leave the restaurant and when deputies tried to arrest Jean Milfort in the parking garage for disorderly intoxication, Tiffany grabbed the deputy and tried to pull him off her husband.

"I'm pretty shocked actually, they're a really good family when they are together," said neighbor Frank Echevarria.

But the deputy arresting Tiffany's husband says things went really badly for him as Tiffany continued to interfere, according to the report.

"At one point grabbing and pulling my earpiece from my ear causing me to lose communications with the other responding deputies."

Deputies eventually gained control of the situation and Tiffany Milfort was taken to jail, along with her husband.

According to the school's website, Tiffany works with special needs students

Parents say they're concerned someone who is supposed to set a positive example for kids, would be involved in a such a violent confrontation. "They are teaching our children, day to day, everyday.  They are almost more of a role model than their parents," said parent Jennifer Landis.

There were cars in the couple's Golden Gate home Monday, and a gate in front of the home.

Echevarria says the image of the Milforts getting into a bar fight is not what he is used to seeing. "Nice, peaceful family, when you look at them you look at something like out of a portrait."

The deputy involved in that melee between the couple suffered an injured hand.  The school district would have no further comment on the issue.
