LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The arraignment hearing for former Fort Myers Police Captain Jay Rodriguez has been pushed back.
Rodriguez did not appear in the courtroom today.
He is facing charges of misconduct, perjury, and prostitution stemming from a 2013 undercover sting.
He was allegedly caught on camera engaging in a sex act with a prostitute. He's then accused of lying about it during an internal investigation.
A new arraignment date was set for October 21st so that the assistant state attorney from Sarasota can be in court.
If convicted, Rodriguez will lose the city's contribution to his pension.
