LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- New video from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office shows deputies helping rescue two kids from the water at Sanibel Causeway Tuesday.
Deputies got a call just before 8 p.m. after two kids had fallen off their jet ski near the causeway and were stranded in the water because of the quickly moving current.
Video from the department's helicopter shows part of the rescue.
West District Deputies arrived first and jumped into the water to bring the kids to the seawall, where one of the kids was pulled from the water.
Marine Unit Deputies then arrived to bring the other kid and the two deputies on board their boat.
They say the two kids had minor cuts from holding on to the bridge pillar, but were otherwise okay.
