LEE COUNTY -- The owner of the Lani Kai resort on Fort Myers Beach is doing their part to help kids stay safe in Southwest Florida.
The owner donated all 37 painted picnic benches that used to line the beach to the non-profit Southwest Florida Shield Foundation.
The organization is putting picnic tables at bus stops across the community so kids are better protected from traffic while waiting for the bus.
The tables at the Lani Kai were replaced by all-weather tables and chairs.
