FORT MYERS, Fla—Travelers had to deal with minimal flight delays out of Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) Tuesday morning.

For the most part, check-in and security lines moved right along. However, the airport is anticipating that will pick up later. A record 115 million Americans are expected to travel 50 miles or more by January 1.

Fox 4 spoke with early morning travelers, who shared a piece of advice ahead of what’s anticipated to be a busy travel day for many.

“Don’t stress out,” said Nicholas Clark who was getting ready to fly into Detroit for the holidays.

Dressed in festive attire, traveler Mary Boyd added “I think what you do is you dress, you feel like the holiday and just let it roll.”

Travelers are also advised to be in line at their security checkpoint at least two hours before their scheduled departure times. Port authority will have additional security checkpoint lanes at each concourse to help keep things moving.
