LCSO: Jury duty scam continues to be reported in Southwest Florida

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Lee County Sheriff's Office has a warning for you about a jury duty-related scam making the rounds.

The sheriff’s office says they've received multiple complaints from people who have gotten a call from someone claiming to be a Lee County Sheriff's Office employee.

The caller is telling people they need to a pay a fine for missing jury duty.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office will not call and solicit money over the phone.

The sheriff's office says this is a scam, and they're urging anyone who has paid money to report it immediately by calling 239-477-1000.
