The Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about a missing person in the area of San Carlos Bay-Bunche Beach Preserve Sunday.
The aviation team responded to the scene and found the person in the canal surrounded by mangroves.
Deputies sent down a helicopter hoist to pick up the person.
Deputies say the person did receive medical attention.
