FORT MYERS, Fla. — Lee County deputies were alerted to a possible animal abuse incident near Woodward Ave. and Pine Island Road in Fort Myers.

Deputies say two witnesses saw a white male in his 30's walking northbound on Woodward Ave. with a gray pitbull-type dog.

Authorities say the male suspect picked up the dog by the leash, threw the canine on the ground and began to kick it several times before walking away with the dog in his hand.

Deputies say the suspect possibly drives a four-door silver Mercedes and lives in the Palmona Park area with a possible nickname of "Junior."

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
