CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The Lee County Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the death of an inmate.
Kyle Orr was sentenced three weeks ago to life in prison for the 2019 murder of a woman in Cape Coral.
Orr pleaded no contest for the death of his girlfriend, Jessica Landor.
He was officially released from the Lee County Sheriff's custody on August 10th.
But, the Department of Corrections does not have him listed as transferred to state prison.
FOX 4's reached out to the Lee County Medical Examiner's Office.
We're told the case is still an open investigation with law enforcement and the state attorney's office.
