UPDATE (12:19 PM)-- Fort Myers Beach is now open. San Carlos Boulevard is now open.
The Lee County Sheriffs Office strongly encourages motorists to use caution when traveling.
The Sanibel Causeway is open, but it is highly encouraged that motorists avoid the area.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says the Sanibel Causeway and Matlacha Bridges are closed.
They are also asking motorists to avoid Fort Myers Beach.
There is heavy flooding on San Carlos Boulevard.
