FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Lee County Sheriff's Office has finished the first step in the re-accreditation process.

It's being done by a third party agency called Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

LCSO employees and the public can offer comments on the sheriff office's services and performance. A few members of the public spoke out about their concerns regarding

Sheriff Carmine Marceno's performance and qualifications as sheriff.

The representatives of the accreditation agency will now review the comments to determine if LCSO will be re-accredited.
