Lee County Sheriff's Office offers free public safety seminar

If you unexpectedly found yourself in a dangerous situation with an active shooter or in a mass casualty event, would you know how to respond? The Lee County Sheriff's Office partnered with the Lee County Department of Public Safety and Lee County Trauma District to put on a free public safety seminar on Saturday, June 16th.

Topics for the seminar include how to respond, assess, protect and identify defenses during an active assailant encounter. The event also includes information on how to perform life saving techniques to Stop the Bleed before emergency responders arrive. The seminar will end with a question and answer pannel session with law enforcement and public safety officials.

No firearms are allowed and all bags are subject to search.

The seminar takes place at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall located at 13350 FSW Parkway in Fort Myers. It begins Saturday, June 16th at 9 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. The doors will open at 8 a.m.
