City of Cape Coral will end waiver of permit fees this month

It's hard to imagine that southwest Florida could have a tourism season after Hurricane Ian, but some businesses are reporting an influx of visitors.

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The City of Cape Coral Council voted to end the waiver of permit fees for Hurricane Ian related repairs.

Resolution 2-23, which will resume the collection of permit fees for hurricane repairs on January 16, was passed today.

Cape Coral waived more than $1 million in permit fees from October 12 through December 31, and issued more than 13,600 permits.
