LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol confirmed one person was killed in an I-75 crash that shut down southbound lanes near Bonita Beach Road Tuesday.
According to FHP, a 63-year-old Lehigh Acres man was traveling north on I-75 in a sedan around 4:46 p.m.
The driver attempted to change lanes and collided with the front of a pickup truck in the left lane.
After the collision, the sedan rotated off the roadway and collided with a cable barrier.
He was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.
