FORT MYERS, Fla. — Fort Myers Police are handling a death investigation.
Police were called out around 6:45 a.m. to a pond near Carrell Road and U.S. 41 on Tuesday morning.
When officers arrived they found an elderly woman in the pond.
Investigators say they are investigating it as a suspicious death and it appears to be an isolated incident.
An autopsy is scheduled for later today.
