FORT MYERSA, Fla. — A classic dust devil rotation was seen in Fort Myers today, near Fowler St. and Colonial Blvd.

According to the National Weather Surface, dust devils form in areas where surface temperatures are high. A hot pavement surface is an ideal setup for this phenomenon.

These whirlwinds are usually short-lived and will dissipate when the balance of warm air is broken.
