Arrest made in Fort Myers Walmart shooting

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Fort Myers Police Department has made an arrest in the shooting incident at a Walmart in Fort Myers Friday night.

FMPD confirmed the shooting happened just before 9 p.m. Friday in the parking lot. The victim was hospitalized and is in critical condition, but is expected to survive.

19-year-old Tyrese Thornton was arrested after police located his vehicle outside an apartment building at 2124 Carrell Rd. He was booked into the Lee County Jail.
