FORT MYERS, Fla. — Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide after they say a body was found along Sophomore Lane on Monday morning.
Deputies and investigators lined up along Preserve Point Drive and Sophomore Lane after two people found the body around 8 a.m.
"It appears that he was killed somewhere other than this location," said Sheriff Carmine Marceno. "We responded immediately, all hands on deck, to begin a death investigation."
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help while investigators work to identify the body.
"If someone’s great friend or family member is not home or not at work, or they have a concern, call that in because that’s a part of the identification process," said Marceno.
Although this is an isolated incident, deputies are looking for a suspect or suspects.
Anyone who may have information that can help investigators are asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff's Office or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.
