NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol officials confirmed a motorcyclist was killed Monday morning in a crash involving a garbage dump truck.
The crash happened at the intersection of Pine Island Rd. and Woodward Ave. in North Fort Myers.
FHP confirmed a Waste Pro truck was involved in the incident and that the motorcyclist died after being taken to the hospital.
An investigation is still underway.
In a statement released Monday morning, Waste Pro said:
We are saddened to learn of this tragic incident. It would be inappropriate to comment at this time as this is an ongoing investigation. We are fully cooperating with local law enforcement.
