FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. — Power was restored to the first few homes on Fort Myers Beach this morning.
Some families completed their inspections and were permitted to safely turn electricity back on today. Since last Sunday, residents have been able to return to the island to survey damage to their property.
The Town of Fort Myers Beach says more houses will be receiving power soon.
A temporary access plan for the island will go into effect this Monday.
