FORT MYERS, Fla. — Lee Health System is relocating its regional trauma center from Lee Memorial Hospital to Gulf Coast Medical Center.

The expansion project comes with a hefty price tag of $315 million.

It will add more than two hundred inpatient beds.

Officials say it includes expanded emergency department and intensive care unit spaces.

The move is expected to happen in January.
