LEHIGH ACRE, Fla. -- The Florida Highway Patrol arrested a Lehigh Acres man on Friday involved in a 4-vehicle crash that happened in November 2016.
Troopers say 26-year-old Andres Placeres Torrens was speeding on Lee Boulevard and hit a car traveling in front of him. That car then stuck another vehicle driven by 71-year-old Alfred Frebel. A fourth oncoming car collided into debris from the crash.
71-year-old Alfred Frebel was pronounced dead at the scene.
Torrens was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital for his injuries.
Troopers also confirmed Torrens was under the influence during the time of the crash.
He faces DUI manslaughter, and DUI property damage charges.
