LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A Lehigh Acres man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for breaking into and burglarizing a home.
Police say Everett 23, was caught after a Ring doorbell notified a homeowner that someone was at her front door.
The homeowner saw Everett smash a window and open the door. She called the police.
The police arrived within minutes and asked Everett to come to the end of the driveway. He was exiting the home with a television and a bookbag.
Instead, Everett decided to run but was quickly located.
Everett was adjudicated guilty on one count of Burglary of an Unoccupied Dwelling Unarmed and Grand Theft $300 or more, Less than $5,000.
