FORT MYERS, Fla. — For many people, our least favorite doctor's visit was the dentist. But some look forward to this day…every single year.

“Its amazing the service that they give you for absolutely nothing,” said Aida Nievestorees

People like Aida Nievestorees say she can't afford dental care. She actually set up camp since Friday night…hoping to see a dentist.

“I wanted to be the first one on the list, because i was in severe pain, I’ve been in severe pain for quite a while,” said Nievestorees.

And today that pain is gone.

Patients like Aida are exactly why lee dental care holds its annual free dentistry day.

“We love them this is our community we want to help them, and anything we can do to make it better because dentistry is hard to get for some people,” said Ramona Johnston, Regional Manager of the Lee Dental Care office.

For the fifth year, the event welcomes anyone who needs care…no questions asked.

“We don’t ask financial questions, you just fill out your medical history, we give you a ticket you wait, we kind if do a triage, they figure out what you need cleaning filling our extraction, we out put you in that category, and they just wait their turn and we just get them in and get them out,” said Johnston.

Aida says she got two teeth pulled, and a cleaning….services that not only give her good dental health…but a boost of confidence, too.

“Since i work in the public and I’m going to start a new job at Nervous Nelly's restaurant i can wear a bright smile and doing my part in greeting and serving people and being kind,” Nievestorees.

The event is made possible by employees and dentists from all around Southwest Florida who volunteer their time to help others.
