Local sports fan react to the tragic death of 41-year-old former NBA player Kobe Bryant

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The death of Kobe Bryant came as a devastating shock to the world. The 41-year-old retired basketball star was tragically killed today in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianni Bryant. Seven others also died according to the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department.

Today sports fans at Hurricanes Wings and Grill reacted, as the stunning news of Kobe’s death broke.

“Pretty sad to see him go so young, 41, just ins’t right”, said Terry Dopp.

For other fans Kobe’s sudden passing is just a huge tragedy.

“In the sports arena to lose a guy like Kobe, I hope everyone gets over it quickly, but it’s just an awful way to terminate a life that quickly, 41 years old. Heartbreaking,” said Al Lewis.

Kobe was considered one of the greatest NBA players of all times during his 20 years with the Los Angles Lakers. Off the court he was also a devoted father, and for him to die along side his daughter makes this even more devastating.

“It’s too bad that someone has to got hat quick, and their family too its sad,” said Ken Gray.

Ken Gray says he will always remember Kobe for his stellar performance on the court.

“ I had a lot of good memories, and you know, I hate to think about him right now it’s just so quick you know, that this happened”, said Gray.
