LEE COUNTY, Fla. --- The State Attorney's Office is seeking to have a Lee County court hold Lois Riess without bond pending her trial.
A hearing was held on Thursday on the motion filed by the State Attorney's request. In the motion filed the office says the crimes committed by Riess are considered to be dangerous crimes as defined by the states statute.
The defense counsel for Riess waived her appearance and right to a pretrial detention hearing and requested that she remain in custody. The judge approved the request and Riess will remain in custody without bond.
The next court date for Riess is scheduled for May 29th.
She is accused of killing her husband in Minnesota and then driving to Fort Myers Beach where she met tourist, Pamela Hutchinson before killing her.
