Madisen's Match benefits cancer patients in SWFL

Posted

LEE COUNTY, Fla.-- Madisen's Match is a tennis match, gala and auction in Southwest Florida to help children and adults battling cancer.

Madisen Abramson was born on September 7, 2004. Doctors discovered she had a small brain tumor. Due to its location, surgery was not an option.

Madisen received chemotherapy through a port that was implanted into her chest. She then became allergic to the treatment, so doctors stopped chemo.

As of August 2017, the tumor was shown to be stable and has shown no signs of growth, though Madisen has to undergo an MRI each year.

Madisen's uncle, Duane Chaney, founded Madisen's Match to help other families battling cancer.

On March 18, is the 10th annual gala and auction at the Miromar Lakes Golf and Beach Club House. There will be food, drinks, live and silent auctions. The Bryan Brothers band is also playing.

On March 19 is the Pro Tennis Classic at Florida Southwestern State College, tickets start at $40.

So far, Madisen's Match has raised more than $650,000 to benefit national and SWFL based pediatric and adult cancer treatment charities.
