CAPE CORAL, Fla. — This 20 mile road stretching from Interstate 75 west to Pine Island supports more than 30,000 vehicle trips each day.
Dozens of businesses surround the area and the city of Cape Coral is planning to build more.
Including multifamily developments, office and retail space, along with many new restaurants. Ricardo Noguera, the city's economic development manager says it’s a hot market.
“Developers, investors, and a variety of businesses whether they be office users, retailers, restaurants, auto dealers, they’re all seizing the opportunity to establish business here along Pine Island Road,” said Noguera.
Noguera also says developers are buying at a rapid pace.
“There is less than 300 acres of developable land left on Pine Island Road and it is dwindling rapidly,” said Noguera.
Even a new hotel along Pine Island road will help support the local economy.
“There are no hotels along pine island road presently, so the Fairfield by Marriott will deliver hotels for a variety of business that are in this area”, said Noguera.
The city's main goal is to bring new jobs to the area and expand our tax base.
“By taking these properties along Pine Island Road and developing them for commercial, light industrial, and retail it will expand that base. It will also create many jobs for this community and deliver services so folks do not have to cross the bridges in term of employment and services,” said Noguera.
Noguera also says these projects are set to be completed by the summer of 2020.
