CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The Cape Coral Police Department responded to a call regarding a deceased dog at Garden Boulevard and Northeast 24th Avenue on June 15th.

When officers arrived, they discovered a Sheba Inu deceased with its mouth taped closed with electrical tape.

The next day Cape Coral Police received a call from William Hilyard after seeing a story about his dog on the news.

After Talking with Hilyard, Officers developed probable cause to arrest Hilyard for Aggravated Animal Cruelty in the death of his Sheba Inu.

Hilyard was transported to the Lee County Jail.
