A Lehigh Acres man was arrested for killing his girlfriend's child in October.

Quintavis Tarver called 911 on Oct. 9, to get help for the 17-month-old child who was under his care at the time.

When first responders arrived at 3324 Handy Ct. in Fort Myers, they found the toddler not breathing.

The child was taken to Golisano Children’s Hospital and passed away the following day.

Investigators received an autopsy report on Jan. 13, which indicated the death was a homicide.

Tarver, 24, was arrested on Jan. 29 and is facing charges of Second Degree Murder.
