PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- A 54-year-old Port Charlotte man was arrested Monday for having sex with a 17-year-old boy. Richard Pierce engaged in a nearly year-long relationship with the teen.
Sheriff's Deputies responded to a disturbance call on the 3000 block of Caring Way. The call was made by Pierce's boyfriend, who believed Pierce was cheating on him.
Pierce's boyfriend says that when he arrived at the apartment on Monday, he noticed Pierce's car was not parked in its assigned spot. He decided to enter the apartment, and found Pierce and the teen having sex.
The teen told Pierce's boyfriend that he was a minor, and that the two had met using Grindr, a dating app for gay men.
