MIAMI, Fla. -- Jaime Plasencia is accused of killing Priscilla Torres in Miami, stealing her car, and setting it on fire. Torres is from Naples and was a student at Barry University at the time of the murder.
According to a police report, on February 10th at about 4:30 a.m. police responded to a woman with multiple gunshot wounds. A witness told them she heard a woman scream, then heard two gunshots. He saw a car circle the victim, then saw the suspect fire two more gunshots.
Torres died in the hospital. Police identified her the next day, and found her car engulfed in fire on February 13th.
According to the report, Torres' friends and classmates told police she was close with a man named Jaime. Surveillance showed a man who matched Jaime's description walking with the victim and into her form room just before she was killed. Police were able to identify the man as Jaime Plasencia.
In an interview, Police say Plasencia told them he'd last seen Torres in early January, but phone records showed he'd seen her February 10th, about two hours before she was killed.
On March 14th, Police got a tip stating that the suspect had killed the victim and set her car on fire. Police arrested Plasencia on Monday.
