MARCO ISLAND, Fla. — Marco Island Police Chief Al Schettino will retire in less than four months.

On June 15th, he will mark his tenth year with the department.

However, the department has been under scrutiny lately. Earlier this month, the state attorney's office dropped charges in three cases because they said they can't trust Officer Tige Thompson.

They said he gave a quote that was "allegedly inconsistent and potentially untruthful testimony" in a 2011 case.

As of now, he's still on patrol. Last year, an investigation revealed two former Marco officers had sex while on the job.
