Minnesota Twins to expand safety netting at Hammond Stadium

Posted

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Minnesota Twins are looking to keep fans safer at Spring Training games this year with an expanded safety net inside Hammond Stadium.

Since the stadium is so small, they need the extra netting to stretch further down the first and third base lines. It will pass both dugouts and be 30 feet tall.

To keep the net from blocking fans' views, the Twins plan to use thin ropes without knots.
