Motorcyclist critical after troopers say truck turns in front of him in Port Charlotte

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- An Arcadia man was taken to Lee Memorial hospital Thursday after colliding with a turning truck on Tamiami Trail.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, around 8:44 p.m., 22 year-old Justin Mason of Arcadia was riding a motorcycle northbound on Tamiami Trail at Hancock Avenue when a southbound pickup truck made a u-turn at the intersection.

Mason crashed into the rear of the truck and was thrown off the motorcycle. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

No charges have been filed yet in this case.
