FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A Fort Myers motorcyclist was seriously injured Monday night in a collision with a minivan.

60-year-old Jesse Arnold was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, at 8:10 p.m. Arnold was riding north on Buckingham Road approaching the intersection with Cemetery Road. That's when the driver of a southbound minivan turned left in front of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle crashed into the right rear side of the van.

The van's driver, 46-year-old Princess Shaw of Lehigh Acres, was charged with failure to yield right of way.

Arnold was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
