A former bellhop and valet at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club is accused of stealing a guest's checkbook, and writing himself a $45,000 check.
Naples Police arrested Abraham Duran Wednesday, the incident occurred back in February. The victim said her account was overdrawn after she got home from a week long stay at the hotel.
Investigators believe Duran stole the victim's checkbook when he carried her belongings to her room.
The human resources director at the hotel saw a similarities between Duran's signature on the check and his signature on other employment documents.
A man fitting his description was caught on surveillance camera cashing the check at a Naples Bank of America.
The hotel's general manager says Duran was fired for another issue before they realized he was a suspect in this case.
The general manager says the hotel is cooperating with the investigation.
