COLLIER COUNTY, Fla-- Collier County firefighter and paramedics are coming together to raise money to help those who recently lost their homes in the Picayune Strand Fire.
“It kind of hits firefighters hearts because we may have saved 1700 and that’s fine but we lose 1 and that affects us," said Collier Professional Firefighters and Paramedics Union member Craig Weinbaum.
On Saturday, the group was at Florida Sports Park raising money.
“As large as Naples is we are still a small town and we can together and help people out,” said Weinbaum.
The group said they don't have a specific amount they are trying to reach,but they hope to raise enough money to help the 4 families who lost their homes in the fire.
