NAPLES, Fla. — A 21-year-old Naples man died in a traffic crash on Strand Boulevard Sunday morning.
Florida Highway Patrol says he was driving with a passenger north on Strand Boulevard and failed to make a left turn.
Troopers say he then ran off the road, entered a pond and submerged.
Troopers say the driver and passenger tried to exit the car and swim to the back of the pond.
According to Troopers, the passenger made it to the shoreline, but the driver was unable to escape and drowned.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal crash.
