NAPLES, Fla.—Part of the Naples Pier will remain closed for the next few months after it was heavily damaged by Hurricane Irma.

A city spokesperson says the western end of the local landmark likely won't reopen until next summer.

However, the first half of the pier, from the beach to just past the concession area, reopened back in September.

The estimated cost to fix the part of the pier that is damaged is about a half million dollars.
