Fire prevention week ends Saturday, October 14th and all 10 Cape Coral fire departments are having an open house beginning at 9 a.m. with tours, games, giveaways and more.

National fire prevention week provides fire departments across the country to educate the public on the importance of fire safety and prevention.

Each year, the National Fire Prevention Agency (NFPA) develops a theme for the week and this year's theme is "Every second counts: Plan two ways out!"

The Cape Coral Fire Department will have activities that people will be able to participate in like spraying a fire hose, experiencing the inflatable interactive fire safety smoke house, tours of helicopters, ambulances and fire trucks, demonstrations of vehicle extrication, a junior firefighter obstacle course, and plenty more.
