LEE COUNTY, Fla.-- On February 2, you can wear red to raise awareness about the number one killer of women, heart disease.

Local neurologist, Doctor Nima Mowzoon says this is a campaign geared toward heart disease and stroke awareness in women.

Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year. This is more than all cancers combined.

According to the American Heart Association, someone experiences a stroke in the U.S. every 40 seconds.

80% of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action.

Doctor Mowzoon says his company, TeleSpecialists, put robots into different hospitals across the country to help treat patients for stroke.

He also says the symptoms to watch out for are: nausea, sweating, headaches, etc.
