NAPLES, Fla. — NCH has announced they are filing paperwork to drop the lawsuit against the Leapfrog Group.

"In this time of national crisis, we are pleased NCH is able to focus on the safety of their patients and their heroic workforce. The NCH hospitals recently showed improvement in safety, and we look forward to seeing even more progress in the future. We wish the very best of health to NCH and the Naples community." said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group.

Last year, the Leapfrog Group announced its fall 2019 hospital safety grades.

NCH was given a poor rating.

Both Collier County Hospitals NCH Naples and NCH Baker received a ‘D’ grade.

They then filed a lawsuit against Leapfrog over the grades they received.

NCH says they did not participate in the Leapfrog Group survey in the last year it was offered and received a low grade as a result.

“We are happy to put the past behind us with the dismissal of this lawsuit and focus on improving the patient experience. Quality patient care has always been, and always will be our first and foremost priority,” said Paul Hiltz, President & CEO, NCH Healthcare System.
