LEHIGH ACRES, Fla — A local family is hoping a new CrimeStoppers billboard will help find the suspect responsible for the murder of a Lehigh Acres mother.

Trenesa Roberts was shot and killed outside of her home nearly two years ago.

"It’s almost two years. Still, no answers, no arrests, no nothing," Sharlonda, the sister of Trenesa, says.

"It's like someone knows something."

The billboard is located on Lee Boulevard, and drivers will have to face the question of, 'Who Killed Trenesa Roberts?'

"Somebody knows something! You know, Fort Myers is not as big as you think it is, and being that we're from here, people know her; they know us; they know the family. Somebody knows something," Sharlonda says.

"Just do the right thing and talk."

On December 18th, 2018, Trenesa Roberts was heading to work as a school bus driver at 6:30 am when she was shot and killed in front of her home.

"We want to know why, even though it isn’t going to really matter because it's not going to bring her back. But why?" Sharlonda says.

"And how can you sleep with yourself at night knowing you just murdered somebody in cold blood?"

The pain doesn't go away for Roberts's family.

Her sister and mother visit Trenesa's grave every Sunday.

The two talk to her and tell her they miss her and wonder why this happened.

"Put yourself in my family’s shoes. Her kids' shoes, my mom’s shoes," Sharlonda says.

"Being a mom, you have 5 kids, and you lose one of your daughters, one of your babies, parents aren’t supposed to bury their kids were supposed to be burying our parents."

The days go by, but with Trenesa's killer on the loose, the family doesn't feel safe.

"It's traumatizing. Because we're born and raised here in the city of Fort Myers, Florida, and to know that its people walking around here, you don’t know who you’re standing next to at the grocery store, who you’re standing next to in the mall, that was possibly involved in the murder of my sister or knows about it," Sharlonda says.

"It hurts."

The family prays that the billboard will help bring justice to Trenesa.
