FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in partnership with the Lee County Government announced new plans in administering the COVID-19 vaccine.
In a press conference held Sunday, officials announced a new reservation system and a larger vaccine site will be launched this week to help administer the vaccine to front-line health care workers and those 65 years of age and older.
The reservation system will be put in place Monday with vaccinations set to resume Tuesday at the new site located east of I-75 off of Daniels Parkway. The site is the old airport terminal parking lot and health officials say message boards will be posted directing traffic to Paul J. Doherty Parkway.
Officials say reservations will be scheduled from 10-2 p.m. Tuesday and 8-4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
The department of health says it plans to administer 1,000 vaccines Tuesday and 2,000 vaccines per day Wednesday and Thursday.
You can make a reservation beginning at noon Monday by calling 833-618-2001. Once you arrive for your vaccine appointment, you must show ID and arrive no more than 45 minutes before your appointment.
